What is your role at The Benefit Doctor?
Client Success Manager
What do you love most about supporting our clients?
I enjoy the educational piece, explaining to our clients how their benefits work. Those eureka moments when it all makes sense to them, are the perks of my role.
What is a common challenge you help solve?
I have solved challenges with Prior Authorizations on medications, successfully explained what benefits, copays, deductibles and co-insurances the client’s plan have. Explaining what an EOB is and the information it explains.
What’s one thing clients / HR teams don’t realize about what you do?
I work claims, have an understanding of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding. I have held various roles in the Healthcare and Dental fields and am knowledgeable in many aspects related to medical, vision, dental, pharmacy and supplemental insurances. I am bilingual and speak Spanish.
What makes BenDoc's approach different from other brokers in your opinion?
We offer a Concierge experience. BenDoc sets itself apart from the once a year visit from the Broker. We remain in consistent contact with our clients from Broker relationships to SALES and BOSS team assistance to our clients.
Fun fact about you outside of work?
I have been married for 16 years to my husband, Josh. I have 3 adult children: Michael, Sean and Sophia. My hobby is collecting coins & cats, I now have 4 cats. I’ve been severely allergic to cats all my life and my children found a “hypo-allergenic” cat from the Humane Society. I thought that was a myth, nope, it’s true they exist. I also have 3 dogs and 1 turtle. We are San Diego Padres Fans. We go often to games in California and have followed the team to AZ and WA for games. My husband and I enjoy theme parks, we’ve gone to Universal Studios, Disneyland, SeaWorld in California. In Orlando we’ve gone to Disneyworld, SeaWorld, Universal Studios and the waterpark that is a part of Universal Studios. This brings me to my quirk, we collect popcorn buckets from theme parks and movies. I collect LoungeFly backpacks.
Advice for anyone trying to create change and make an impact?
